Anna-Maria Cahalane
Artist

Anna-Maria Cahalane's work draws on her encounters with and glimpses of the wild creatures that live in the woods along the railway embankments of South East London.
Some of her images are made from lino and wood cuts while others are drawn with ink she has made from the oak gals that she picks on her woodland walks. She often uses maps, old photos or vintage papers as a backdrop for her prints or illustrations.
Anna-Maria hopes the images she creates reflect the beauty, depth and magic of birds and mammals that manage to still exist in our cities despite the damaging effects of urbanisation.
